Album: B in the Mix: The Remix Album
Spears dropped her first remix album entitled B in the Mix in 2005, and fans were surprised to see a remixed edition of a previously unreleased track. How can it be a remix if there was never an original mix released? No matter. “And Then We Kiss (Junkie XL Remix)” was a welcome addition to sit alongside Britney’s other remixed hits. Reminiscent of “Breathe on Me,” her breathy vocals float on the pulsing beat, becoming more layered and building to the climatic chorus which feels like such a release. For the remix, Junkie XL was inspired by Depeche Mode’s 1990 single “Enjoy the Silence,” building a eurotrance beat with rock guitar and synths. The final result is one of Britney’s most entrancing and underrated dance tracks.
