Spears’s sincerity shines through when she writes about her boys. “Brightest Morning Star” is a sweet ode to motherhood that is a bit of a mismatch for the electro-dance treatment it receives. Though Britney Jean is filled with heavy dance beats, this track may have been best served by a more acoustic vibe. Still, the song is earnest and endearing, and as a bonus track it outshines some of the tracks found on the standard edition of the album.
