“Deep in My Heart” was a fixture in Spears’s early promotional mall tours. So much so that one might have been surprised it did not make the final cut for her debut album – at least on the standard American release. (Surprisingly, it was revived for the B-side of some international releases of "Oops!... I Did It Again"). In some ways that was likely the wise decision. As fun as this upbeat dance pop number is, its production and 90s house beat make it sound more dated than the other album cuts (although 2020 saw something of a 90s house revival). Nonetheless, it makes for a solid early Britney bonus track.
